The BIG April Update!


Hey, hey, hey, ladies, men, and nonbinary friends! 

I come today bearing a pretty significant update, so let’s get to it: 

  1. Actual animation! The game was pretty dang boring to look at before, but now those characters are movin’ around like nobody’s business! Plus, character designs have been updated a bit and the artwork is overall cleaner and more polished. 
  2. Original music! I’ve added an early version of the battle song I composed as well as some more chilled out overworld music (it’s a bit cheesy at the moment, but I promise it’ll sound better eventually lol). 
  3. Sound effects! These are also pretty cheesy right now, but rest assured that they’re just placeholders until I make some better-sounding ones. Even so, they add a lot of personality! 
  4. Made Star Attacks harder! It only makes sense that for the bigger payoff of a star attack, you’ll have to face a harder challenge. As of now that just means doubling the speed of the notes, but I’d like to add more differences! 
  5. UI overhaul! I’ve been working on making the battle HUD and character portraits prettier than just boring ol’ Unity canvas shapes. 
  6. Dialogue tweaks! I’ve added a new, more fun font and made some other minor adjustments to make it flow a bit smoother. 
  7. Some 3D objects! These’ll be the focus of the next update, so stay tuned for some environments coming soon to replace the empty default void. 

And that’ll do it for now! Until next time, stay in school, eat lots of pasta, and dance battle a poker chip.
