Thesis Update!


Hey everyone! I’ve got another big ol’ chunky update for ya today, so let’s get into the changes! 

  • Dance pad support! This is still fairly experimental, but assuming I’ve done everything correctly you should be able to play the game with a dance pad! Unfortunately, this seems to be a Windows-only affair, unless you use a passthrough program like JoyToKey. (Controls: Arrows to move/use menus/dance, A/Circle to talk/jump/select, and B/X to reset the game. Speaking of which… 
  • New reset system! Press Enter (Or the B or X button!) to return to the overworld while battling or reset the enemies in the overworld. This replaces the “reset enemies” button from previous versions. Additionally, the game will auto-reset after a minute of inactivity. 
  • Created a casino room to explore! It’s pretty humble, but it’s a far cry from the gray floored void of the past, lol. 
  • Rescuees! Now when you defeat enemies they transform back into their human forms. I’m planning on having a cool animation of some sort for this soon, but for now, they’ll just pop into existence. 
  • Enhanced music! I’ve made some more finalized versions of the different battle themes and removed all copyrighted music, replacing it with the all-new… 
  • Music switching! Depending on your performance during battles, you might just hear different versions of the battle theme! 
  • New enemy! There’s a new, stronger version of Chippy who’s sporting a fetching blue color. There are also more Chippys who’ve invaded the new casino! 
  • Other miscellaneous tweaks to make the game more polished and fun! 

And there you have it! One rather large update that marks my completed senior thesis project! I’ll probably take a break from Cab for a bit, but rest assured she’ll be getting more updates soon! In the meantime, wear a mask, make a batch of cupcakes, and try your best not to be turned into a poker chip.
